If you missed the Real Madrid-Manchester City matchup today, you missed one hell of a match. Even if you aren’t a soccer fan, this match turned out to be a fantastic display of international soccer from both sides and an even more fantastic finish by the world’s greatest player, Cristiano Ronaldo.
The first half was a dominate performance of possession and shots by Madrid, but they couldn’t manage to score and it was scoreless after 45 minutes.
The second half showed a Manchester City side with more confidence going forward, and they took a 1-0 lead in the 70′ minute thanks to a great play by Yaya Toure and solid finish by Edin Dzeko. It wasn’t long, however, before goals from both sides started pouring in. Marcelo answered for Madrid in the 76′, then City regained the lead in the 85′ thanks to Aleksandar Kolarov. But it wasn’t long (two minutes to be exact) before Benzema answered with a clinical finish in the 87′ putting the sides even once again.
Then there was Ronaldo. He had so many opportunities, you knew one was bound to find the back of the net. Ronaldo finished the match with ten shots, three of which were on goal, and one very clutch goal in the 90′ that gave his side the win.
